How do Parish Councils work?

Parish councils are statutory bodies which are funded by an annual precept which is added to council tax and collected by the local authority, in this case, Cornwall Council. Members are elected for a term of four years.

Parish and town councils can apply for other funding such as grants, but they do not receive funds direct from central government, as principal authorities do.
